Snatch PR!

New Snatch PR of 135# ! Old PR was 131# or 132# And this time I actually got underneath it, i did take a few tries but I got it. Only 100 more pounds for body weight snatch. ha! Unfortunately. between this, some slight soreness from Monday's deadlifts and that mornings massage I only got 155# in the clean and jerk. I cleaned 165#, but was just plain ol' shot after that. The jerk was just not flowing. So I called it early. Next time I would like to get 180# or 185!# Wishful thinking :)

Fran and a Rant

I'm still running around busy as usual and not really training. I have been having trouble in my front squats. The right side of my back feels like its about to blow when I hit 195# in sets of three. The first one goes alright but the next two are frightening. I haven't gone up in weight for fear I will really pull something. Plus its really hard! I am pretty sure I have done over 205# for three to five. But I also thought that was on vimeo but I guess that was only like 165# or 175# so maybe I really haven't done sets at 205. Hmmm. I set a max pullup record. Old record was like 11 or 12, got 16 the other day. I think I could have done more if I regripped a little better but I lost it and fell off. I am still horrible at pullups. And finally I attempted "Fran" today (21-15-9 reps of 65# thrusters and pullps for time) I was dreading this. Its December!

So much has been going on! Its been so busy its hard to even workout! Some highlights over the last three months are: Lost ring dip all together, due to some shoulder issues. :( Attended a CrossFit Kids Cert in Ramona California in August. Completed "Grace" as Rx'd (30 clean and jerks for time usi ng 135#) in 6min 27 sec. I want sub six next time! Quit working for Farmers Ins, should have done that long ago! Attended CrossFit Nutrition Cert with Robb Wolf here in town. Learned a lot! Started a personal Paleo diet challenge due to Nutrition Cert. Attended my first Olympic lifting meet in October (unsanctioned)! Setting a PR in the Snatch at 60 kgs or 132# (I totally power snatched it too! oops). Previously was 115#, I hadn't gone up in weight one because I don't practice very much and two I know I can power snatch it, it is catching it in the full squat I haven't figured out yet. I also set a PR in the Clean and Jerk with 80kg or 176#.

090816 21-15-9 Deadlift 165# Pullup Box Jum 12:24 I had a hard time pushing in this, I was extremely frustrated by the dl and pull ups. the only grip i like on the pullups was tearing the crap out of my hands. I can hold on another way but could only do one at a time. I was unpleasant to be around after this one. Saw District 9 last night, that was interesting. I wish I had gone to an earlier showing so I could keep focus, but it was good. I liked that it wasn't in the US, its hard to explain but worth a night out. My brother and his wife were visiting, her first trip to MT! So we did the ultimate tourist thing, water rafting! I hadn't done this before, it was so much fun!!! I'm just going to give a quick version of events. No pictures, sorry. Just lame info. I don't even have times written down for half my WODs and I know there is one or two WODs I am forgetting but here is the latest rundown. In no particular order since my last post "Nasty Girls" 10:48 MU transitions for MU Clean and Jerk 1-1-1-1-1-1 leading reps unknown 165# PR 175# jerk fail, but cleaned it several times and that was my latest clean PR I wasn't pulling myself under the bar in the jerk. "Annie" 9:28 perhaps my worst Double unders to date. Was FLYING in my situps though 3 Rounds for time 500m Row 21 Burpees 400m run 19:38 Wow surprised myself on that one. Runs could have been faster. I heart rest days

090609 21-15-9 Sumo Deadlift High Pull Ring Dips 4:46 used red band for dips...sigh It has been forever since I have done dips in a WOD! I have not missed them. I pounded out 15 in a round in first round, and after that I was hard to get 2 or 3. It seems like I was not the only one with that problem in this WOD. Dips became singles very quickly for everyone. I thought it was just being sore from the all the push ups the day before. I am a sore little girl in my pecks today. However my head turns to the left more comfortably again! Post Games

Well I rested for three days before getting back into it again. And I have been inconsistent since. There has just been so much going on it seems! I was sore after the games, but not for as long as I thought I was going to be. I only needed one day rest maybe two. Three was almost too much, but I like to rest. 06-01-09 "Kelly" 5 Rounds for time: 400m run 30 Box jump 20" 30 Wall ball 14# 10ft 31:48 Due to a large class I did wall ball first. Slow again. I crashed on round 3 box jumps I was so tired. I think my last run was faster than the previous 3 though. I was hoping for under 30 but was worried it would take 35. I'll take 31 and change. I did consider going light in the wall ball for speed, but its really the run that takes me the longest. Report from the Games

I took a few days rest before the games, probably 1 or 2 more than I should have, but oh well. I wasn't top contender ready anyway. My goal for the games was to complete all 3 workouts as Rx'd, then under the 12min time cutoff. Then I ideally in the top 50% of those females that did it was Rx'd, but Id settle for top 50% overall. There are three workouts announced the week before that we were to complete in about 24-30 hours of each other. Best times win. Top 5 males and females qualify for the Nationals in Aromas, CA in July. Three of us competed Myself, Jenna, and Justin. 9am Saturday WOD #1 of the Rocky Mountain Regional CrossFit Games 3 Rounds For Time (limit of 12 min) 8 reps of 195# Deadlift 400m run 9:25 So that time was good enough for 3rd from last of the Rx'd, My goals were going to be tough to meet with a start like that. I may not post everyday like I thought I was going to. I can't help it, I am a busy person

I have been traveling, and trying to catch up on work. I was hoping I would feel refreshed after 10 days off, but it feels like I never left. I am constantly trying to catch up. However I did have a good time in Florida! I met a lot of Michael's friends and is families away from home! They came from all over and were so friendly! I am exhausted. I am falling asleep mid sentence and not moving until my alarm goes off. I am so glad it is a rest day and very anxious for some time out of Bozeman. I know I was just out of town, but I am looking for some down time. I don't know if I was tired or hungry, but I tanked this WOD and then I felt crappy call day. I did not sleep well, maybe that was it. Giant Arm

Already neglecting this poor thing. I need to get in a better habit of getting pictures and remembering times before I head to Livingston, or big gaps like this happen. Since I have a few WODS (work out of the day) to post I am going to put the most recent first so they stay in order. JUMPING ON THE BANDWAGON

Seems like everyone has a blog these days, who am I to go against the flow? My goal is to keep family and friends updated on what I am doing. Since day by day I seem to get busier and busier and forget to tell people things like, oh yeah I moved or quit this job and started a couple businesses. Funny, I found time to do this though. I hope to update it every day. Anyway there may be some rants and raves on this page, I will try to keep it positive mostly and hopefully WFS. No promises, but I will try to warn you. Sorry Grandma and Grandpa there are going to be lots of videos and pictures on here you won't be able to view. Unless you get a different computer!! As far as making this page "pretty" good luck.
